knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

Update - November 23, 2014

Hi Everyone, Sorry about the long time between updates.

In a few days we here in the US celebrate Thanksgiving. I have observed in the last 20 or 30 years that we in this culture are becoming less and less thankful for what we have. Most people take for granted the little things that we enjoy each day -- such as the air we breathe, the food and water we have, our families, etc. Increasingly we are becoming an ungrateful, self-centered lot with a huge sense of entitlement. The reality is that the only thing we are truly entitled to is eternal damnation for our rebellion against a Holy God. And yet God redeems men! But God does not save without purpose. He has a work for each of us. Ephesians 2:10 says that "we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Incredible! Before time began God already had a work for us! Be Thankful. To God. He can easily accomplish anything without my help or the help of anyone. And yet He chooses to use us and allows us the blessings that come with doing His will. I firmly believe that if you have been regenerated you will be about God's work. We do not all have the same calling but we all do have a calling. Be thankful and faithful to do what He has called you to.

The current plan is to have the living quarters for Ruben and wife Edith completed by January 1. At that time Ruben will come on with us full time. It is expedient for us to have a Malawian full time to keep the work going year round. In December the work will continue under supervision of builder Charlie Hale. He, wife Tracy and daughter Harlie will spend a few months in Malawi -- this is the good work that God has called them to. Please remember to pray for the Hales as they are away from home for several months. I will be joining them for the first couple weeks of their stay.Board member LaVern Tueth will be in Malawi around the first of the year to implement the fertilizer program and do some test plots ( see previous updates for details on this program ). Please pray for him as he fulfills the work God has called him to.

The bore hole work and distribution of CheChewa Bibles will continue as soon as I arrive in December. As usual we will be helping remote villages which have none of the conveniences most here consider necessities. It is like going back 200 years. And , as usual, we present the Gospel wherever we go. It really is pointless to help someone with his physical needs and ignore the spiritual. Both are imperative.

This may be repetitive, but I will say it anyway. I am truly grateful to God for each one of you and the interest and involvement you have in this ministry. Whether by prayer or giving or both, you are a vital part of this work. May we strive together as we do the great work God has called us to and all glory and honor go to Him.

Grace & Peace, John B.
