knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

March 2013 trip to Malawi, Africa

We will be visiting rural villages to: Repair water supplies ( bore holes ) and bring the message of hope - the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pre-Trip Update (Jan 28, 2013):

Hello to all on this cold January day! As you have an ongoing interest in the work in Malawi, I thought it a good time to give you an update.

The ministry of Reach Out for Christ ( ) is now preparing for a 2 week trip in March. This year instead of the usual one other person with me, we will be a group of 9. 7 of us ( including my wife Allison ) from Maine and 2 guys from Iowa.

We are going to continue with the well repair project, and the Bible project but also, as we will have 4 ladies, there will be other projects -- volunteering in a medical clinic, working with young school children and also we will be staying a few days at the Gospelink farm which has recently opened an orphanage - currently 12 very young children. The ladies will be spending a good amount of time doing a sort of VBS ( Vacation Bible School ) program and whatever else there is need for. The ladies will also be accompanying the men to do the bore hole repairs on a few occasions .

I have been talking to my Malawian friends recently and it seems that the annual hunger problem is much more serious this year. ROFC has already provided some maize to the needy and will continue to do so -- it will only get worse from now until April.

There is also a growing interest in the work with prostitutes that was started a couple of years ago. If you are not familiar with the story let me know and I will fill you in. Anyway, we want to get a program up and running that will provide occupational training and a little start up money for these girls as they are delivered from this bondage. So we do plan on talking to and sharing the Gospel with as many as God directs as we seek them in Lumbadzi.

I will reiterate as I try to do in all my updates, that the goal of ROFC is not just to provide physical help to those in need, as important as that is, there is something much more important - and that is the message of the Cross - the Gospel -  and that we all need the Saviour's grace -- without which we would be hopeless and helplessly lost for eternity. The overall objective is to glorify Christ.

I thank you for all of your support - financial and prayer - in the past and ask that you will continue to remember the team in prayer as we prepare and as we go. If God directs you to give that would be fine, money will be carefully used and is appreciated, however please do not think that is the reason for this letter.  Prayers for us are much more important than money.

Grace & Peace,

John Boyington
